About Red Palm Weevil Magnet
Red Palm Weevil Magnet is highly attracted to two different types of odours: volatiles from damaged palm trees, and aggregation pheromones which male weevils release to attract other male and female weevils to palm trees that are suitable for colonization. It is a specially designed bucket trap, which is supplied along with a lure. Red Palm Weevil Magnet is widely distributed in coconut plantations, the life cycle of the beetle lasts for about six months. The insect attacks the crown of the coconut tree and damages the spindle and unopened leaves.
